The RICS Awards showcase the most inspirational initiatives and developments in land, real estate, construction and infrastructure. They recognise outstanding achievement, teamwork and companies.
The 2022 RICS Awards Australia bestow both local and global recognition. They recognise industry leading achievements and demonstrate the upholding of the highest standards of professionalism and ethics by individuals and teams across the built and natural environments.
We invite individuals, teams and organisations to nominate their achievements, professionalism and ethics to the world stage and showcase the best of the built environment from Australia.
All shortlisted nominations will be promoted across the APAC region and winners will be showcased as the top performers in Australia via the extensive RICS network and wider platforms.
In 2021 the winner’s announcement videos received over 25,000 views on LinkedIn across the AUS Awards programme, so be sure to submit your nominations in 2022 to share your story and achievements with the industry.

Managing Director – Asia Pacific, Turner & Townsend
As Managing Director of Turner & Townsend’s Asia and ANZ regions, Anooj is responsible for the strategic direction and growth of the Asia and ANZ businesses.
He sits on Turner & Townsend’s Global Operations Board, Global Management Board, Asia Board, ANZ Board, Korea Board and chairs the India and Asia Real Estate Boards as well as the Real Estate, Infrastructure and Natural Resources Boards in ANZ. He also sits on Turner & Townsend’s global Purpose steering committee.
Since his appointment as Managing Director of ANZ in 2015, Anooj has overseen a growth of circa 60 percent of the ANZ business and a diversification program across 14 sectors, 13 offices and 6 service lines. In addition to his current role, Anooj was appointed as Managing Director of Turner & Townsend’s Asia region in 2020, leading an additional 17 offices and a combined team of over 1,700 people.
Anooj is passionate towards creating a cohesive construction industry, particularly focusing on how to enhance performance through collaboration; as well as driving efficiency resulting through the most cost-effective mutually beneficial client outcomes. He currently sits on the RICS Australasia Advisory Board and is a judge for the RICS Australia Awards as well as the PPP Awards for Asia Pacific.
Director, DAHO Property
Darren is the Founder of DAHO Property which assists clients with their Real Estate solutions across Australia. With over of 35 years’ experience in Asset / Property Management, Darren has assisted major Corporates and Investors deliver their Portfolio / Property strategies. He is a current member of the RICS Oceania Advisory Board and is a regular contributor to a number industry associations.
Director - Civil at AECOM
A Chartered Surveyor since 1994, Brigitte has significant experience in business planning, operations management, strategic planning and advisory, project management, contract management, design management and facilities management. As a senior leader in AECOM Brigitte currently leads a team of 90 civil and geotechnical engineers in Victoria working on some of the region’s largest infrastructure projects with a strong focus in the energy, transport, aviation and government sectors. She also sits on Steering Committees for multi-billion dollar Transport programs in Victoria. Prior to this Brigitte led the AECOM Project and Program Management team of 85 staff across the southern region.
Asia Pacific Head of Valuation and Advisory Services at JLL
John has regional responsibility for leading and managing JLL’s Valuation Advisory platform across the Asia Pacific region, which encompasses 700 valuers across 13 countries. John has over 30 years’ experience in the commercial property industry working predominantly in institutional valuations, consulting, development appraisals, capital transactions and fund management. He is a member of the firms Australian Executive Committee and sits on the firm’s Global Valuation Advisory Executive Board.
Group Manager - Commercial & Risk at DECMIL
Aine Flannery is Group Manager – Commercial & Risk, of Decmil, where she oversees the Commercial & Risk profile of the business within Project Delivery. Her role is to provide corporate support to projects including risk, claim, change and procurement management. Aine also oversees any litigation matters across those projects. Aine has over 17 years’ experience in the resource and construction industries and is a Member of RICS.
Head of Legal, Building at Lendlease
Matt Meakin is a lawyer / quantity surveyor with over 20 years experience across the construction, infrastructure and property sectors.
Matt is currently the Head of Legal for Lendlease’s Building business where he overseas all legal work for Lendlease’s construction business in Australia. Matt has also held senior leadership roles within the commercial management function of Lendlease and other large contractors.
Managing Director, GM Growth Consulting
Glen is a versatile property professional with over 20 years management and operational experience successfully leading teams and completing major projects to achieve stakeholder objectives. He has expertise in working closely with a diverse range of people, communities, customers, stakeholders and developing mutually beneficial relationships.
Head of Asset Management for Office & Industrial at CIPAM
Michael has 25+ years industry experience with a strong asset management and leasing background.
He’s worked with Challenger/CIPAM for 17yrs, holding various roles with broad-ranging responsibilities in Australia and Europe.
Michael is currently Head of Asset Management for Office & Industrial at CIPAM.
Valuer General of New South Wales
Dr Parker is the Valuer General of New South Wales. He is an internationally recognised property industry expert and highly regarded property academic, being a Visiting Professor of Property at the Henley Business School, University of Reading and a regular expert witness on property funds management and property valuation matters in the Federal Court and the Supreme Court.
Transactions Manager at AXA Investment Managers
Richard is an experienced Property Fund Manager who has held senior fund management roles in both listed and wholesale property trusts. He also has valuation, property management and commercial agency experience and is a past-Chair of RICS’s NSW Committee.. Richard has written, presented and facilitated RICS and PCA training workshops to the commercial property industry. Currently, he is Transactions Manager at AXA Investment Managers.

Shortlisted candidates will be announced in August 2022.
The winners will be revealed via video announcement on LinkedIn during the Awards Winners Announcements Week from 12 - 16 September 2022.
Following the announcements week, we are hopeful that we might be able to hold a celebratory in-person function to get together, catch-up and congratulate the winners and finalists locally. Details of this will be released closer to and will be dependent upon circumstances within the region at the time.
