Assessment applications in 2022

Update on use of ARC

ARC is not being used for assessments. You can view and copy any information you have previously saved but cannot make changes to existing information or input new information. We are continuing to develop and test our assessment systems and data so we will have an assessment process that is fully integrated with and benefits from the digital transformation we have been implementing.

While we progress this work, we have updated the existing assessment process, building on lessons learned from the September–December 2021 sessions and new resources that are available to us. Please read the information below.

Please check you are viewing assessment information for your location: Americas; UKEurope; Sub-Saharan Africa; MENA; South Asia; ASEAN; East Asia; Korea; JapanAustralasia.

You should consider the impact of the new Rules of Conduct on your written submission and your completion of the ethics module.

    Written submission

Associate candidates are not required to complete a written submission for the competency as this will be tested via the RICS ethics module.

The Ethics, Rules of Conduct and professionalism competency will continue to be mandatory to Level 3 for all chartered assessments. If you submit your written submission after 2 February 2022, any evidence on the Ethics, Rules of Conduct and professionalism competency must be based on the new Rules.

A new version of the Ethics module will be available from 2 February 2022. Access to the current module will no longer be available from this date.

Candidates who have successfully completed the current module prior to 2 February 2022 do not need to take the new version if they pass their assessment within 12 months of completing the current module.

  • In February 2021 we introduced a 6-month extension to the time limits on CPD records and case studies. This extension continues to apply to all associate and chartered assessments until 31 July 2022.

Extensions do not apply to the requirement for the ethics module to be successfully completed within the past 12 months.
