My reason for being on the Board is to support and further the works and profile of the RICS, the foremost Property Profession organisation. The Scotland Board is focussed on the needs of Chartered Surveyors across Scotland, operating in a diverse range of Property Markets

Alastair is the Senior Partner of Thomas & Adamson, based in their head office in Edinburgh.  He brings valuable knowledge of the whole construction and property process, having worked for both private practices and international construction managers and developers.  He is passionate about the industry and thankful for the opportunities it has given him in his career. He is keen help the RICS remain relevant and respected in the years ahead.

Scottish Government has always worked well with RICS on property policy matters which span a wide range from; Housing, Planning, Construction, Inward investment, Infrastructure, Landlord and Tenant to dealing with the Covid pandemic. Having representation on the Board allows both personal and professional relations to develop positively to mutual benefit.

Craig is the current Chair of RICS Matrics Scotland and is motivated to support our members through their professional career. With his involvement in both the RICS Scotland board and RICS Matrics, Craig is able to bring together a wealth of knowledge and experience to ensure our members are supported on a regular basis.

Balfour Beatty

Nick joined Balfour Beatty in 1996 as a Quantity Surveyor and after 25 years with the company, he now holds the position of Director of New Business for Balfour Beatty’s building and civil engineering business in Scotland and Ireland.

Nick has always had an appetite to learn and progress his knowledge of the industry. He joined Balfour Beatty after graduating with an honours degree in Quantity Surveying from Glasgow Caledonian University and then more recently, he completed his Master of Science in Construction Project Management and Master of Business Administration.

A Rural Surveyor with 20 years experience, Niall is a former Scottish matrics Chairman (’09-’10). He brings his knowledge of rural markets and issues to the Board alongside an understanding of the SME sector outside the major cities.
