Overview

In the past valuers have looked at historical data in times of political and global uncertainty. This time is no different with an energy cost crisis, supply chain issues, rising interest ratesand fears of recession lurking, the industry is starting to prepare for a prolonged downturn as we see signs of a perfect storm.

2023 will be a demanding year for many working in valuation, as the industry tries to balance growing risk with emerging trends to be fit for purpose. Explore what impact the economic climate will have on the sectors and how they will adapt to value assets and as we discuss:

  • What impact ESG strategy has on asset valuations?
  • How RICS valuers can take a “consistent and transparent approach” in undertaking mortgage valuations?
  • How the UK national supplement can reflect changes in the market and present opportunity to implement relevant recommendations from the Independent Review into Investment Valuations.
  • What is going to happen in the future with Ultra-contemporary valuations?
  • What is accounting related impairment & how can it be determined from a valuation perspective?
  • The challenges manufactures and investors face when considering their manufacturing footprint in shorter supply chains and the impact on MBA valuations?

This year, the programme will focus on the economic and sustainability concerns that impact all sectors of valuation. To ensure all our members are supported we have created a programme with six breakout streams with content for all valuation specialisms, including:

  • Commercial property
  • Residential Property
  • Operational real estate
  • Business valuations and intangible assets
  • Arts & antiques
  • Machinery & business assets

Join us in central London on 21 February as colleagues gather to connect, collaborate, and discuss forthcoming valuation challenges.

The event is also available on-demand for the Development Package subscribers.
