Bichard RICS Review — have your say on the new Professional Group Panels

RICS is calling on members to share their views on the formation of global Professional Group Panels (PGPs) that will ensure a greater role and voice for the professional disciplines within the Institution’s governance structure.

This reflects Recommendation 29 of the Bichard RICS Review and a member consultation will take place over the next eight weeks covering:

  • The purpose of the PGPs
  • The PGPs being proposed and the groups represented within them
  • The combinations of Professional Groups placed within the remit of each PGP
  • Creating special interest communities connected to the PGPs

The consultation proposes that the existing 17 Professional Groups will remain in place, contributing to and represented by the new PGPs. These will be supported and enriched by the creation of special interest communities with a strong connection into the relevant PGP, facilitating networking and knowledge sharing.

The new PGPs would form part of the formal governance structure of RICS and report into the new Knowledge and Practice Committee, which is to be established in accordance with Lord Bichard’s recommendation.

Members can take part in the consultation online or register to participate in one of a series of interactive roundtable discussions by emailing PGP@rics.org stating their name, membership number and area of profession.
