Meet your North West Matrics Regional Board chair

I am Callum McDougall, Chartered Surveyor and currently, an Associate Partner within the Asset Management team at Mason Owen in Liverpool.

I have been involved with RICS Matrics since February 2019, were I initially joined Matrics Liverpool as a committee member. I became Chair within twelve months and with the assistance of my fellow committee members, we provided numerous networking opportunities and professional development events to our delegates in our area. After three years as Chair, I was offered the exciting opportunity to become North West Regional Chair of RICS Matrics, which oversees the management of the Lancashire, Liverpool and Manchester Matrics committees. My role is to ensure that these committees remain active and provide sufficient networking and professional development opportunities to our members.

The reason I wanted to involve myself with RICS Matrics was because I strongly believe it is one of the most important pillars in the Institutions’ foundations. RICS Matrics is a fantastic vehicle to promote our great profession and encourage students to become surveyors. What RICS Matrics is so good at is engaging with our delegates and it provides many opportunities for young and aspiring surveyors to build their network and develop those professional and personal skills required to succeed.

I cannot recommend enough that if you are a young or aspiring surveyor, get involved with RICS Matrics because you will not regret it! We are always on the hunt for passionate surveyors to join our committees. Therefore, if you are interested in becoming part of our committees in Lancashire, Liverpool, or Manchester, please contact RICS Matrics Executive, Kirsty White via kwhite@rics.org
