Highlights from the latest edition

Global construction markets continue to see activity strengthening across most of the world regions covered in the latest Global Construction Monitor, with expectations remaining positive regarding the outlook over the next 12 months.

Key insights from this quarter's report include:

  • Construction output rises in Europe, the Americas and MEA, but growth seems to have stalled in APAC in Q3
  • 49% of respondents foresee a rise in infrastructure outputs particularly in areas such as Energy and ICT
  • Pressures on material costs were highlighted by 83% of respondents as the greatest impediment holding back construction activity, followed by 66% citing material shortages.
  • Globally, a net-balance of +31% of survey participants envisage an increase in employment levels across the construction industry over the next year
