RICS’ regulatory rules are approved by the Standards and Regulation Board.
From 1 October 2019, RICS implemented a revised version of the Disciplinary, Registration and Appeal Panel Rules (version 8), Constitution of Conduct and Appeal Panel Rules (Version 5) and Sanctions Policy (Version 7) and supplements. On 2 March 2020, the Conduct and Appeal Committee was renamed the Regulatory Tribunal.
The rules have been revised and updated to enable more effective and proactive management of RICS' regulatory procedures, including Disciplinary, Registration and Appeal Panel cases. The updated rules are accompanied by a Practice Direction, to encourage compliance with case management directions and improve timetabling towards hearings.
Any complaints or allegations that came to the attention of RICS before the date of implementation of the new rules, will be dealt with under the rules in force at the time that the matter came to the attention of RICS.
