RICS Awards 2021: Australia winners

RICS Awards, Australia winners shaping the future built and natural environment

The Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors has today announced sixteen teams that are being celebrated for their contribution to shaping the future of Australia.

The sector’s leading teams and companies entered the annual competition – which recognise industry leading achievements and demonstrate the upholding of the highest standards of professionalism and ethics across the built and natural environments – to compete for one of the sixteen prestigious titles in this year’s ceremony.

This year’s entrants have been responsible for some of the biggest projects Australia has seen to date – including delivering for clients during COVID, fostering better workplaces for occupants, creating jobs and working to fight against the impacts of climate change.

After careful consideration by a team of expert judges, the winners are:

  • Building Certification Team of the Year – Building Approvals & Advice
  • Building Consultancy Team of the Year – Knight Frank Australia
  • Facilities Management Team of the Year – CBRE – 1 Denison Management Team
  • Project Management Team of the Year – Plan1 Project Management & Consultancy
  • Property Fund Management Team of the Year – AXA Investment Managers
  • Property Management Team of the Year – CBRE – 1 Denison Management Team
  • Quantity Surveying Team of the Year – Laing O’Rourke
  • Real Estate Advisory Team of the Year – EY
  • Real Estate Agency Team of the Year – Colliers
  • Valuation Team of the Year – CBRE
  • Innovation Award – JLL
  • Sustainability Award – BGIS
  • Construction Professional of the Year – Jag Dhandwar MRICS - Plan1 Project Management & Consultancy
  • Young Achiever of the Year – Eliza Owen - CoreLogic
  • Woman of the Built Environment Award – Azza Hassanin MRICS - KPMG
  • Lifetime Achievement Award – Peter Messenger FRICS - ResolveXO

There were also a number of highly commended individuals and teams who judges felt deserved special recognition. These are:

  • Dispute Resolution Team of the Year – Systech International Pty Ltd
  • Construction Professional of the Year – Firas Shawash - i-Fire Engineers
  • Woman of the Built Environment Award– Eliza Owen - CoreLogic
