RICS is committed to helping the New Zealand construction sector build its workforce capability and capacity.
Invest in skills and training, and build capability and capacity, with the RICS as your training partner.
NZ needs a skilled, sustainable construction workforce to ensure the sector has the people it needs now and in the future. MBIE estimates the construction industry will need an extra 50,000 workers by 2022.
RICS is a supporter of the Construction Sector Accord and the shared goals of the Accord:
Increase productivity – A productive, value-driven and efficient construction sector able to produce more for each dollar spent.
Raise capability – A skilled and capable workforce that meets New Zealand’s growing housing and infrastructure needs.
Improve resilience – Strong, sustainable businesses with the capacity to innovate and adapt to change and disruption.
Restore confidence, pride and reputation – A high-performing, transparent and trusted sector we can all be proud of.
The construction sector has historically been plagued by costly disputes and project cost overruns. The RICS NZ Construction Sector Training programme is designed to build professional skills and commercial expertise to reduce risk and maximise opportunity.
The programme is designed for construction sector professionals including those working in quantity surveying, project management, estimating, contract administration, project and commercial management.
The programme is available both as a public training course for individuals and as an in-house programme for companies and their teams.
All courses can be booked as one off courses or a bespoke programme can be delivered in house to a team or client groups – all courses can be delivered to suit your organisation – be it a main contractor, sub-contractor, consultancy or government agency.
This suite of training aims to provide the critical knowledge and skills needed by NZ construction professionals. The series of full- and half-day face to face sessions runs across the lifecycle of construction projects.
The suite of courses can be taken individually or as a comprehensive development programme for a construction team. The sessions are designed to be interactive and practical and will be delivered by experienced RICS Chartered Professionals with local and international experience.
