Knowledge and Information Services

RICS is relaunching its Knowledge and Information Services to support members in their work. The aim is to combine the best of the old library service with a new enquiry service open to all members wherever they work.

The old in this case is the beautiful space in RICS HQ, Parliament Square, London, containing the historic and valuable collection of surveying books and antiquities that will continue to be called the library.

The new element is a helpful member enquiry service for professionals in their day-to-day work.

Member enquiry service to give range of support

The enquiry service will include helping members with the following:

  • information requests – we will attempt to source journals, books, reports and other publications for members, or guide them to where these can be found
  • ethical dilemmas and queries related to day-to-day work
  • technical questions about surveying practice
  • queries relating to RICS standards and guidance.

As the service will be growing and developing over time, we want to hear from members about their needs.

Service offering timeline

The enquiry service is now open, and you can email to let us know what you need help and support on. Please note that we have a small number of staff at present, but we will make sure we respond as soon as possible.

The physical library space is now open. Dedicated staff will be on-site Tuesday and Wednesday 10am to 4pm and will be reviewed based on demand as the service matures.

Access to information resources for visitors to Parliament Square is available now and you can search what is in the collection via the fully searchable library catalogue here.
