The RICS Awards showcase the most inspirational initiatives and developments in land, real estate, construction and infrastructure. They recognise outstanding achievement, teamwork and companies.
The 2022 RICS Awards New Zealand bestow both local and global recognition. They recognise industry leading achievements and demonstrate the upholding of the highest standards of professionalism and ethics by individuals and teams across the built and natural environments.
We invite individuals, teams and organisations to nominate their achievements, professionalism and ethics to the world stage and showcase the best of the built environment from New Zealand.
All shortlisted nominations will be promoted across the APAC region and winners will be showcased as the top performers in New Zealand via the extensive RICS network and wider platforms.
In 2021 the winner’s announcement videos received over 30,000 views on LinkedIn across the NZ Awards programme, so be sure to submit your nominations in 2022 to share your story and achievements with the industry.

Manager National Asset Management at Kāinga Ora - Homes and Communities
Rob is currently the Manager of National Asset Management at Kāinga Ora - Homes and Communities. Prior to taking up this position he was the CEO of Development Christchurch Limited (DCL), where he led a team focussed on supporting development opportunities and facilitating investment into Christchurch with the goal of contributing towards making Christchurch a modern world class city. Rob is a Fellow of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors and has also been a Fellow of the Charted Institution of Water and Environmental Management. He has held a number of governance roles, including the New Zealand Registered Architects Board, the Arts Centre of Christchurch, Canterbury SPCA as well as in education.
Head of School of Architecture at Victoria University of Wellington
Robyn worked in architectural practice, designing residential, commercial and industrial projects, ranging from Police stations, and office design to hospitals. She is a Fellow of RICS, Director of the New Zealand Green Building Council (Research), Trustee of the Property Foundation and a member of the International Society for Indoor Air Quality and Climate and IRHACE. She is a Co-Director of the Healthy Housing Research Group which won the Prime Ministers Science Team Prize in 2014.
Associate Dean External Engagement at The University of Auckland Business School
Dr Deborah Levy is a Professor and Head of the department of Property at the University of Auckland Business School. She is internationally recognised for her behavioural research focusing on property markets and widely published in academic property journals. She is passionate about teaching and educating young people to excel in a career in property. She is a fellow of RICS and was awarded a Lifetime Achievement Award in 2017.
Principal, AREA
Peter is an independent property investment and development advisor. Peter has a wide range of experience in investment management, particularly property investment and development, and has worked in New Zealand, the United Kingdom and Bermuda.
Peter has previously held senior leadership roles at number of large New Zealand property organisations including Auckland International Airport, Stride Property Group (Chief Executive), Goodman, Property for Industry, Sky City Entertainment Group and AMP Capital.
He is a Trustee of the Dilworth Trust Board and a member of the Kainga Ora Construction Programme Advisory Panel. Previous governance roles include Chairman of community housing provider Homes of Choice Limited and a Director of HLC Limited (formerly Hobsonville Land Co Limited).
Peter is a Fellow of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors and holds a Bachelor of Property Administration from the University of Auckland.
Independent Planning and Development Consultant
Clive has worked in both the private and public sectors in the UK and NZ. His professional experience includes delivering major transport infrastructure projects and commercial buildings. He has been involved in many aspects of urban renewal, and has managed significant property acquisition and sales programmes. He received the RICS Lifetime Achievement Award in 2019 for services to the property profession. He is an RICS Assessor a strong supporter of professional development.
Priority Location Director at Panuku Development Auckland
Kate is currently the Priority Location Director North for Panuku Development Auckland where she is responsible for leading the urban regeneration of Takapuna, Northcote and Hobsonville Point in Auckland’s north. Kate has over 10 years’ experience in the industry across both the public and private sector including roles in property research, consulting and development.

Andrew leads the commercial building surveying team at AS Jacobs Property Consultancy. His clients benefit from pragmatic advice when looking to acquire commercial property. He brings a particular focus on the management of risk around business interruption for both tenants and landlords.
Director, Outperform Property Investment Management
Over a 28-year career working across the globe Michael has a built up a strong track record in Fund Management, Property Portfolio Investment and Asset Management. He’s asset managed property portfolios for a wide range of clients; from listed companies, private family estates, Cambridge college estates, to pension fund portfolios, GE Capital and Charitable Trusts.
Michael is a FRICS, recipient of RICS Fund Management Team of the Year 2015, former President of PCNZ Auckland Branch and Vice-President of RICSNZ.
Michael established Outperform in 2021 to provide property investment and asset management services to third parties.
City Development and Wellington Business Lead, Stellar Projects
David’s focus is on major infrastructure projects, Urban Regeneration schemes and the growth of Stellar across the Wellington region.
He is a Property, Urban Regeneration and Economic Development professional who has worked globally over the last 25 years. In recent years he has focused on how transport infrastructure can catalyse a place, such as the Urban Development created through Transit-Oriented Development nodes for Mass Rapid Transit schemes.
Amongst his professional qualifications, David is an RICS Chartered Surveyor - Planning and Development and an AIPM Certified Practising Project Manager. David's educational qualifications include a Masters of Urban Regeneration.

Shortlisted candidates will be announced in August 2022.
The winners will be revealed via video announcement on LinkedIn during the Awards Winners Announcements Week from 26 - 30 September 2022.
Following the announcements week, we are hopeful that we might be able to hold a celebratory in-person function to get together, catch-up and congratulate the winners and finalists locally. Details of this will be released closer to and will be dependent upon circumstances within the region at the time.
